About Me
Credentials: I hold Masters degrees in Psychology and Counseling and bring over 10 years of experience in Community and School Counseling, primarily serving elementary and middle school students. I hold the following credentials:
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Registered Play Therapist (RPT)
• Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC)
• AutPlay Certificate—a neurodivergent affirming approach to care
Method: I use a child-centered approach that emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and trusting children to lead their own therapeutic process. Through careful reflection, I work to understand each child's inner world while maintaining regular communication with parents to provide insight and support. I also draw from an integrated approach, using additional techniques when appropriate.
Topics: Anxiety, Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, PDA, RSD, ARFID), Sensory and Learning Differences, Life Adjustments & Transitions, Friend/Peer/Social/Sibling/Family Relationships, Stress & Coping, Parenting, Behavior Concerns
Personal: I have engaged in counseling throughout my life and value the ongoing care of individual and family mental health. I have been with my spouse for 30 years, and we share one adopted child. I identify as she/her and 'neurosparkly'. I enjoy being outdoors, gardening flowers, traveling, and spending time with my family. Fun fact: I love sweets-- just not for chocolate bars.
